Macrofauna is collected on different locations along the Pilcomayo because information about
the composition of its macrofauna tells you something about an ecosystems health.

Ichtyofauna: Fishes of the Pilcomayo
We are gathering information about the composition of the ichtyofauna of the Pilcomayo and about dispersion
of length and age groups. Using information about stomach contents and analyses of stable C and N isotopes
we are also working on the construction of a foodweb. Because of its ecological and economic importance
theres a special focus on the Sábalo (Prochilodus lineatus).
